The skimmer by itself wont get your PIN. They need a tiny camera aimed at the keypad as well. It's my understanding skimmers target credit cards, not debit cards.

At the end of the day, Debit card #'s and PIN's are stolen every day, regardless of how they are acquired. It doesn't change the differences in liability between Credit cards and Debit cards for the victim.

Supposedly a life coach for money matters. A male version of Suzie Orman.

Thanks Swampthang. I guess I just never felt the need to have a life coach.

Tiny cameras are often referred to as skimmers. Skimmers can also be a replica that installs over the real keypad and your PIN is recorded from that device. There are many ways to steal your data, but I agree with CharlieCTx that credit cards are better than debit cards at getting transactions cancelled.

My credit score has soared the last few months. Think it’s up to 475 banana when it hits 500 the wife told me I only have to sell blood once a week instead of twice a week. up

See? Not a one upper thread at all. My best financial advice was a penny saved was a penny earned

He has made millions selling books and doing seminars with a message of spend less money than you make and pay off debt as quickly as possible...

I don't need a credit score. I take home four thousand dollars more than I spend each month. Credit card and debit card are for convenience.

Remember when everyone wrote checks for their groceries.[/quote]

My wife still writes checks at the store. No one upper here.

That’s not one upper. That just annoys everyone in line behind her

Last I checked was two years ago when bought our home - our score was over 800. We are not wealthy so it takes a few years to save up to buy a car.

In general, if we don't have the money in the bank, we cannot afford it. (Courtesy of Dave Ramsey)

Dave Ramsey always teaches to pay cash vs using credit cards, even if you do pay them off monthly

His main reason for teaching this is that he understands the vast majority of people will eventually fall in to not paying the balance off as described above.

The reason is you pay cash for an item you fell the sting of your cash leaving your hand, vs using plastic where you give nothing for an item. Makes sense to me

Read the OP.I got the information from Fox Business. They reported that the credit scores in 2019 were the highest ever. My intent was to report on Trump's economy. The democrats hijacked this thread.
