Lot better than what the Rangers rolled out for catcher last year. Combined think they hit around .210 with 6 HRs or so..worst in baseball.

I'm glad he got to go to the world series with Houston but I'm glad he's back to the Rangers.

Dude is a great every other day player when sharing the catching role with someone else but he is garbage as an everyday starter basis.

Serviceable defensive player with un-impressive offensive stats. A slight upgrade from what they had behind the plate last year.

We still gonna suck......even with the new stadium.

I had to laugh at one of the topics that came up on a collectors forum recently. As some of you know I collect sports cards and one of the questions that came up was "Name the most iconic card from your home team". When it came to the Rangers everyone was speechless. All the other teams had a few really strong contenders for the most iconic card except the poor ole Rangers. I think the 1989 Upper Deck Nolan Ryan throwing the football won the debate but it was far from a landslide. roflmao

GO RANGERS!!! clap

Yep I have a few of both of those.

The top one was part of a Nolan Ryan only set made by Pacific that was done in 3 series. Because it wasn't a flagship set from a major manufacturer its hard to call it iconic.

The bottom card is pretty scarce as I have only come across 2 of them and one was actually a promo copy of it. It was never a licensed card so few know that card even exists although everyone has seen the photo.

This would have been my pick. This card was huge in 1991!

Mathis sucked when in California. He was another of J D's amazingly bad signs.
