So I mentioned the neighbor rancher’s new Mule. I’m sure it’s a great machine, but I’m still a fan of our Kubota. Early this week, as I did some work on low water crossings (the 80# concrete bags), I also had a lot of rock to move. It was piled up 1/2 mile from where I needed the rock. Rather than just move it one tractor bucket load at a time, I got the wife to bring the Kubota UTV 900. Using the tractor bucket, I’d dump almost two full bucket loads of rock into the Kubota bed, then fill the tractor bucket, and we’d move it all to the low water spot. The wife would pull the lever (in the cab) and the hydraulic dump bed would dump the rock. No muscle required. I can not imagine doing this sort of work with any other side by side. Does anyone else market a SxS with a hydraulic dump bed?

not sure on other models but that was a big selling point for me to have the hydraulic dump bed. My first RTV was a manual and when I came across one with hydraulic I jumped at the chance. I use mine all the time for moving top soil and mulch into places to tight to get my tractor FEL into

The hydraulic dump bed was actually why we bought the Kubota. I took the wife to see it, and she said “it sure is ugly”. Then I showed her the hydraulics, and she said “I want it”. We call it “the little dump truck”.

I've used the dump bead in mine a couple of times when I needed to get a large deer or hog into the back of my Kubota. I put a strap on the legs of the animal, attached it to the top of the bed and tilted it back.
Thanks, Rich

gtrich, I told my wife about your method of getting hogs and deer into the dump bed. And she said “ I like when you drag them and don’t get blood all over my Kubota”. I shouldn’t have told her what you said.

yep, several times with deer and hogs, just way to heavy for one person to load ... last year I shot a big 10 points (194 lbs live weight) down in the bottom of the Trinity River, I heaved and huffed and puffed but I wasn't getting him loaded by myself, and I was the only one at the lease and wasn't going to drag him the 2 miles back to camp. Finally I thought about a video I had seen on YouTube, dropped the tailgate, tilted the bed all the way up, ran a strap under his belly and one under his chest, tightened them both as tight as I could go, let the bed down, then merely rolled his legs over the top and he was loaded. easy peazy!!!

I have the 1100 with full cab - it is like driving a small truck on my lease - AC/heat/stereo/no dust/ love it.
