Yes, I use it when it's called for. Interesting fact: the man responsible for land surveying and setting out a town known as Houston, Texas in the early 1800's would move to start a dairy company named Borden (later) that sold canned milk. His name was Gail Borden

my dad used to tell the tale of years ago about a contest by Carnation Milk to come up with the best jingle. There was a guy that had the best but it couldn't be used due to the language.

Carnation Milk,
the best in the Land,
comes to you,
in a little tin can,
no tits to pull,
no hay to pick,
just poke a hole,
in the son of a b_tch

Condensed milk is a staple in our house. We use it in cream gravy and as a substitute for buttermilk in cornbread with a little vinegar added.

Only use it if it's called for, Borden just filed for bankruptcy.

Instant milk, serves us well. Doesn't ever spoil, you mix up as little as you need. It worked great in our camping recipes, we could mix up powdered ingredients for cornbread, bread, gravy etc. and only have to add water when it was time to cook it.

If I had a nickel for every time I've heard this repeated by my father-in-law, I'd be giving Bezos and Zuckerberg a run for their money! (I know, I know...smile and nod, smile and nod. grin)

My grandmother would use it in the coffee she would let us drink. Had my first coffee with it about 3.5 years old.
Used it like that for years.

I drink a half cup of sweetened coffee after my afternoon nap.

I keep a couple cans of evaporated milk in the chuckwagon and office. They are handy to have around when you run across a recipe for milk and don't have any regular on hand. My kids don't drink milk, I just about quit buying it.
