Picked up a Henry 41 rem mag just because it was a deal. What ammo would be best for hunting? Probably be my short range hog and smaller game gun. Pretty sure if given the chance maybe even deer under 75 yards.

2. Anything loaded with a Hard Cast, Wide Meplat, Lead Bullet.

I have used XTP and the wide flat lead in a .44. Both work very well. I have my 454 loaded with Speer Deep Curl 300 grain, but I have y shot anything with it yet.

I shoot a 315 grain semi wad cutter out of my 460XVR. It seems to wreck anything in its path. Hoping to take it elk hunting one day.

I’ve had good success with Cor-bon and Double Tap ammo in my .44 mag. 240 grain hollow point and 240 grain soft point. All deer shot with either were DRT or very short tracking job.

200-250 gr in the 41 will make excellent Deer medicine, it’ll put ‘em right to sleep.

For my Ruger Blackhawk convertible .357 mag I use 180 grain Buffalo Bore flat nose cast ammo, .44 Mag Ruger M77/44 hard to beat the old plain white box Winchester in 240 grain or Buffalo Bore 260-280 grain, for my Trusty Ruger Blackhawk Bisley in .45 Colt I love 300 grain flat nose cast Buffalo Bore. I am overrun with feral hogs, 3 pastures rooted up so I kill them everyday, in the brush, the above calibers and bullet work well.

I absolutely love the xtp/fp in my 357 rifles. The fp is specifically designed for the higher velocities that you get out of a rifle. Unfortunately, it looks like they don't make it in 41 cal.
