Since the duck hunting has been pretty slow on the upper coast me and a couple buddies put together our first sandhill hunt with H2O Extreme Outfitters out of Port Lavaca. Made the short 2 hour drive from Houston this past Saturday and they did not disappoint. The birds did it dirty and we had wave after wave with feet down in the dekes. Limited out by 7:30am. I know a lot of guys make the jump up to the panhandle to chase em but this was a great opportunity not far from home. I'd strongly encourage anyone in the southern portion of the state to also consider this as an opportunity if you're looking. Great hunt and a great outfitter!
