So we are gearing up to get serious about food plots but I’m really concerned about the cows and pigs eating it all. We could put up a hot wire, but I’m pretty sure the pigs will still get in and I’m concerned on scaring the fawns. So I thought maybe putting up panels. It would take about 1300 bucks to panel off one acre. Not too big a deal if it’s profitable. But with hog panels the fawns will not be able to access the food plots. So I’m torrn on what we should do. Any suggestions?

I've seen a hot tape about 10-12" off the ground keep hogs out of a rice field. They like easy, no penalty food. YMMV depending on what else is available in the area.

If you find yourself feeling useless, remember it took 20 years, trillions of dollars, and four presidents to replace the Taliban with the Taliban.

Sometimes the Universe puts you in the same situation again to see if you’re still a dumbass.

How much would you have invested if you planted a plot? Might be cheaper to do that and find out if you're concerns are founded or not. I wouldn't worry about the fawns, they'll follow momma soon enough and I've had plenty of pictures showing momma in my deer pen while the fawn looks on from outside when they were really small.

Good luck!
