Long range .22 needs a scope just as good as long range centerfire. So borrow a scope from one of your centerfire rifles.
300 yards is over 13 Mils, so more than one full rev.

Being budget challenged, I’m really looking at Cabela’s 6-24X50 scope. The turrets sure feel like poop tho. Lol
Man if I knew what Oxner knows I could throw away what I know

I know where a NIB Bushnell Forge 4.5-27X50 can be found. Its MOA, duplex, focuses to 25 yards. Exposed crispy turrets with Zero Stop.

I have a BSA sweet 22 on my savage bolt 22lr and I kinda love it. I totally am getting a "real" scope in the future as i use it more but for now that junk has far exceeded my expectation on like a $40 junk. For bulk 22, the turrets showing yardage markings are actually within a couple inches out to 100 yards, the furthest distance I've shot it at a range. Mine has about thousand-ish rou ds through it if I had to guess. I plan on upgrading this rifle as well but the Sweet 22 maybe one of the last upgrades.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

You can bet your paycheck I won’t be putting a BSA on any gun

I have been pleasantly surprised by the Athlon Talos FFP. I was told that I would not get good tracking for $300, but I have not noticed an issue. Now, I have never spent $1500 or $3000 on a scope, so I can't compare to a really high end scope. So take my advice with a grain of salt.

Have heard Nikon is getting out of the scope business and has some really good prices at the moment. Been very happy with an FX 1000 First focal plane mil in 4-16.

I really like the Athlon Midas TAC. Good glass, parallax to 10 yards, good reticle (can hold up to 40 MOA), 25 MOA per rotation and a little tiny floating center dot.
Do not trifle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

I put an old gigantor Vortex Crossfire 6-24x50mm telescope on mine.
