These unknown birds(hawk or falcon of some sort?) Have been running the buzzards off of our dead coyotes. Anyone know what they are? [Linked Image]

They call them a Mexican eagle but they are really colorful buzzards.
They are moving farther north every year. We have seen a few here in Shackelford County the last two years.

Why? We got lots of them and they don’t appear to be interested in anything other than dead animals. What am l missing?

They follow me around when I am shredding fields and pick up the dead snakes, mice etc... even seen them eat grasshoppers.

Saw a pair in our neighborhood in Forney. Told the wife to not let her little frew-frew dog out for a while.

I didn't realize they were this far north in Texas.
