A good friend shared this photo with me. Because I don't have permission from everyone in the photo to share their image, I've edited them out. It seems the brother of one of them recently put up hog wire fencing to keep the hogs out of his hay meadow. Then some time later, he left the gate open so his cows would find their way into it. Later he found that not only had his cows found their way in but a large group of hogs. After shutting the gate, my friend and three other locals went to town on them. A total of 23 hogs were killed in less than an hour. That was one of my initial thoughts as well after hearing about the event and seeing the photo. And although my friend didn't mention it, I thought later it must have sounded like a war was going on as feral hogs were hitting the ground. There must have really been some grubs those hogs wanted badly to make them find their way through the gate and into the pasture. But then, I'm sure it was their repeated rooting and damage is what caused the landowner to put up hog wire fencing all the way around it.
