Been testing some 200 grain ammo for my 300 win mag and now that I’m comfortable with the long range accuracy, the last real test would be to just see what kind of performance it would have on a big boar hog at 300 yards and see what kind of wound channel and exit wound it would provide. Do you think that would be an adequate enough test in trying to compare it’s effect on an elk? Being in Texas, i would think that would be the best option as opposed to our deer.

300 win mag with a 200 grain bullet. Hmm. It’s good enough for elk, but you should still shoot a hog
The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

Do not worry about the bullet it will kill an elk from that 300WM just put it in the vitals and get ready for the work to begin. Copper shanked polymer tipped bonded core bullet tough enough for anything walking in North America

300 win mag with a 200 grain bullet. Hmm. It’s good enough for elk, but you should still shoot a hog ^^^^^ Yep, no need for 'testing'. Several thousand people have already used it successfully on Elk. But....ALWAYS a good idea to shoot hogs.
Spartans ask not...how many, but where!

its a great combo for elk.....but a 200 lb hog isn't exactly a apples to apples comparison to a 700 lb bull elk.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
