I bought a DPMS Panther Bull 24” 5.56 . The trigger seems like it’s about 6 lbs or more . I’m hoping you guys can suggest an aftermarket trigger that gets to the 2 or 2.5 lb range

That is a great trigger but expensive. I've got one but I've settled on CMC 3 gun match straight shoe 2.5 pound trigger. The last one I bought breaks at 2 lb 2 oz.

I’ve got a Timney and CMC. Both are great.

Rise and Timney are pretty much the same and an excellent value. If you prefer the standard configuration over the cartridge styles, pick up a Larue for 87 bucks.

I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Question on the Larue - why is there such a difference in pull between the one stage and two stage ?

Question on the Larue - why is there such a difference in pull between the one stage and two stage ? With a 2 stage you’re moving the trigger sear all the way to the edge (taking up slack) before it breaks on the second stage. A single stage is where the trigger is breaking the whole time.

Triggers I am currently running:
2x LaRue MBT-2S. A very nice 2 stage trigger at an attractive price. I don't even own a trigger gauge, so there is that. It is a good clean and consistent trigger. Geissele SSA. I've had this trigger in a .308 for years. It was my first upgraded trigger and truly spoiled me. I probably wouldn't buy this trigger again, but it has been very good. Geissele SD-3G. I'm no where near as good as this trigger is. I might save my pennies and replace all my other triggers with this one. Yes, it is that good.

I went with the timney single stage couldnt be happier I’ve always had the impression competitive shooters go two stage usually and guys that mostly hunt prefer single stage with exceptions. I don’t care for two stage triggers. My one AR-15 is a DPMS I purchased new in 2012, the trigger was horrible so bought a Timney single stage 3lb

My suggestion is the buy one that gets frequent recommendations and looks easy to install after watching YouTube videos.
For me that turned out to be a Timney.

Not sure if the terms load or stage are the correct words for it but I believe my description fits. It gives the mind an additional reference point during the squeeze. In normal combat situations I could see where a two-stage trigger would be useless. However, it would seem very appropriate when a slow and more careful aim is needed no matter the type of rifle.

I put a single stage JP in mine. It’s right around 2.5, with no creep.

I agree completely if your after precise shots a two stage trigger is a big improvement, I shoot a Gessiele Ssa-e trigger it’s a two stage trigger and I highly recommend it. But if your not use to two stage triggers you do have to learn how to use it for it to really benefit you.
