We used to use Pace alot. But it got so watered down, it was like spicy water. Even their"chunky " was like water.
About 2 years ago we started using Texas Texas sauce. It was good, thick and chunky. Not watery,
Well it's getting real watered down now.
Anyone know of a good thick picante sauce....
Or what do you like?

At United they have a selection of locally bottle sauces, we usually pick up a couple pf them for variety.

+1, but normally make my own. Everyone at deer lease swear it it is the best. Plus less than half the price of store bought.

Mateo's for us and I'm surprised everyone else likes it too. I thought it was our secret.

HEB thick and chunky medium for me. They use minced onions and put their jalapenos in there at the end so they taste pickeled rather than cooked.

Moving to Alabama was made easier when I discovered Publix carried Mrs Renfro's Habanero salsa. I probably go through two jars a week. I substitute it for tomato sauce in my chili recipe.

coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.

I am assuming you use beans since you called it chili?

My father in law has been making mine for the last 5 years. He is trying to make one hot enough to burn me.

I like this stuff in any of the heat ranges for my wifes sake (cant handle heat at all) its usually medium or mild. If I want some other kind of salsa hot sauce etc. I make pico and that's about it for me.

Herdez roasted tomato salsa is plenty good enough for a stock salsa. I’ll make my own if I want something special or run out of my stock salsa.

No Pace here. We buys Mateo’s, El Fenix or a variety of other brands at Central Market.
