Anybody rigged a platform for their spoiled dogs to ride in the back seat of a UTV? Mine's a Can-Am. My two dogs detest trying to get on the back seats. Too much stuff in the bed to even try them back there.

Creekrunner, fold up all the rear seats and have them stand on rear floor board. I have a can am defender max and those seats all fold up leaving a large flat area for dog to stand. I say this, but haven’t trained mine yet to stand back there, but dog box on way for bed so short trips he will be learning back floor board. cattle dogs at my ranch happily ride on the rear floor board, and if they fall off it’s a 8 inch drop to ground. Try that and see

Thanks, I'll try it. We got them on the back seats yesterday, but I don't think they were happy. My spoiled you-know-what blue lacy is used to riding shotgun with me in the pickup and she basically pitches a fit when she can't. realmad

I put two dog chains attached to the back seat of my mule spaced far enough so they can't get tangled up with each or jump out. The same on the front seat. They learn that if it's just me, they can ride anywhere they want to. Normally the female Blue Lacy and Border Collie up front and the male Blue Lacy in back. When I have passengers, the Border Collie knows to get in the back seat and will get snapped. Queen Bee Daisy stays up front no matter what. If I don't snap them to the chains when riding around, they'll bail out and take me on an unwanted hog hunt EVERY time. Once they are snapped to the chains, they settle down and enjoy the ride. It takes a little time and repetition but they will learn that the restriction of the chains is better then being put in the kennel when the mule starts up.
