This is my first Remington bolt action. I wanted a featherweight 16" barrel and Remington had exactly what I wanted and it only cost $470. I decided to roll the dice. The first range session had mixed results. Was mainly just trying to get is sighted in with what I had. Groups weren't great but started tightening up after about 20 rounds. Second trip to the range I figured it out. First 3 shots was the group below. This is with factory 308 150 Gold Dots. I made my scope adjustments. Scope is a Trijicon 3-9x40 Mil Square. In my opinion, one of the best values in a hunting scope. Once the adjustments were made POI shifted but groups opened up to 1.5". I let the barrel completely cool, changed targets during the cease fire. Next group was the same as the first but in the bullseye. Basically, I have about 3 shots before groups start opening. I'm completely happy with this since this is a light weight hunting rifle and the first few shots are what matter. The rifle is a Model Seven, scope is a Trijicon mentioned above, and suppressor is a Q Trash Panda. Overall length suppressed is 41".

That's good to hear, I just bought the same rifle and put a Griffin GP7 on it. Maybe it'll like the 150's as well.

Remington continues to make some of the best factory barrels you can buy. The problem that seems to plague them is what they build around them.

I have the same gun because I wanted a short, light rifle as well. Runnin' a Dead Air can and this is just what I wanted for climbing in/out of a tripod. I'm getting similar accuracy results with green box core-lok 150s. Hope you enjoy the model 7. It's made for the best deer season yet for me.

That's a nice rig, Scott. I love the Model 7 action. If I ever find a good deal on a lefty, I'll build it similar to yours.
Haha yea I polished that thing for hours.

I just got this gun, and haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I hunt a lot of thick brushy areas, and wanted a short barrel as well as light weight. I walk a lot. Its funny I was looking at a trillion scope as well. Just curious if you shot any other brands of ammo through it besides the CCI/Speer gold dot, how'd it do? Also, how was your trigger? mine is 4.3 to 4.5, and won't adjust any lower. I like 3 lbs triggers, so looking at Timney

I was wanting for 150s to shoot so I'm pretty much done experimenting when the Gold Dots worked so well. My trigger was 5.5 lbs and only adjusted heavier. I replaced it with a Timney. Sure easy since it's just 2 pins. Timney came at 3.5 which Is what I like. I would highly recommend the Trijicon.
