I came upon the clip on version of this product watching SHOT show videos, the clip on is called a Hogster-C.

Come to find out this outfit is in Irving TX a few miles from where I work, met up with Boris and did a field test with him. Placed an order that evening and 3 weeks later the new scope is in my hands.

I listed initial pros / cons in the YouTube video description.

I can tell you , thus far this is the best $ 2800 thermal scope I’ve touched !

More to follow :

Thanks to DNS for recording the range session and offering me the use of his range!

Additional content from a few long sits this past week.

I think the image inside of 100 yards can hang with any other 380 res scope on the market, beyond that distance there would be better options but of course cost will increase too.

All in all I’m happy with what it can do for the price paid.

Nice footage. That looks pretty good for 320 chip. I like the PIP like Pulsar, though I did notice the two crosshairs don't line up. Maybe from sighting in.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Took my 5th hog with the scope and Sellier Bellot 150 gr SPCE ammo.

So far performance is rock solid , zero stays put , image doesn’t lose focus , battery life decent.

I’m happy with the setup

Some very good results so far. Looks like a viable thermal sight - good value for the cost.

Bering recently updated their page with the product info: https://beringoptics.com/catalog/?goods=216

I just ordered direct from them, I did upgrade the mount with a locking mechanism which was about 100 bucks more

Videos look good, definitely looks like a viable short range option. Now for the most important question:

What is the warranty for these units, and how is the mfg support if it breaks?

I saw a post last week on another forum where a Pro Staff member for a NV retailer tested two of there units side by side (25mm vs 35mm).

He stated in that thread that the warranty is 4 years on the scope.

Downside is you can’t find that on the webpage and the business is a small group and not as large as the other NV manufacturers so it isn’t known about long term support and warranty.

Yeah, I know this isn't a $8k Trijicon, but it's still a LOT of money. I'd have to have a really good feeling about consumer support after this unit gets beat up in the field for a few years.

Well, right now your two choices for feeling good about customer support are going to come from Pulsar and Trijicon, and things look promising so far for NVision.

That's what I've heard too. I've got a hunting buddy with a ReapIR, he had some sort of failure and Triji treated him right.... no questions asked, and in a reasonable amount of time during the peak of summer hog hunting time.

Anyone looking to gain a significant amount of market share is going to have to have this kind of support, and do a good job of letting potential customers know it's available.

I took a gamble and put an order in for the 25mm version. We shall see how it turns out. Any word on other mounts that might fit this unit? I'm going to give the factory one a shot, but would sure like to upgrade to a more recognizable name like Bobro or ADM that I know I can trust to RTZ.

I actually like Berings mount - it has RTZ every time and here is why I think it is good to go .

My usual approach with every other thermal or digital optic has been to remove the factory mount inspect the mating design and clean up anything rough and reapply with goodly torque and sometimes loctite and use.

Like you I went with aftermarket on most pulsar / sightmark gear

When I received my Hogster I couldn’t unscrew the factory mount, careful and close inspection reveals that it seems the factory epoxied the mount to the scope body as an added measure of strength. I of course didn’t want to ruin a brand new scope so i skipped my usual approach and went straight to use.

I imagine I’ve taken the scope off , used it across multiple firearms and have RTZ over a dozen or more times. I’m anal so yes I verified each time to be sure i was on ...

I got the locking scope mount, not sure how’d you get the factory mount off , you’d probably need a scalpel to cut the epoxy and slowly and firmly back out the screws but I say try it first !

Yeah the guys at night goggles said they were pretty happy with the mounts as well. Only problem is the 35mm unit comes with the locking mount, and it sounds like that's the one you and those guys are talking about. Apparently the 25mm (that I got) isn't locking. I don't know if upgrading to the locking mount is an option, or if I'll even need it. Reading your feedback, I'm also wondering if it'll even be possible to upgrade.

All I can say is try the 25mm out as you receive it and see if you’re happy with the image and repeatability (of the mount).

If you decide to keep the baby Hogster and upgrade the mount I would send it in to Bering and have them do the work. They may have a special solution or method for releasing the bond using chemicals and such.

The more feedback the better on these units - good or bad doesn’t matter it needs to be discussed either way.

I’m banned for life at PredatorM@sters forum but if you go to their night calling section there are more user and vendor convos occurring there versus here on the Hogster

Got my first weekend using this unit behind me, and I must say I'm pretty happy with it thus far. It's very small and light. The QD mounting interface locks up tight, and it's only a sample set of 1 but it proved to be repeatable. It was easy to zero, and very serviceable for identifying and shooting hogs. I'd say the 25mm unit is good for about 200 yards, pretty clear picture. We shall see how it holds up long term, but after 1 weekend trip and 2 nights of hunting I'm pretty happy with it!

Another weekend of hog hunting in the books with the 25mm Hogster-R and I continue to be impressed. Battery life in the cold weather was noticeably longer than all my friend's Triji units. There's obviously a lot more context in that comparison, but it is nice to not be chewing through batteries when it's cold outside. This is a very solid 200 yard unit. Will continue to update. Proof will be in the pudding as it continues to be beat up with regular use.

Good stuff Crews - the standby mode helps a lot with extending the battery life and the quick startups are nice to.

Just wish we could regulate the NUC for semi-auto (user initiated) or manual (no auto NUC)
