Got invited to my old stomping grounds, the Katy Prairie. It's been years since I haunted these places. Seems fitting that the first bird down was banded. She is so old it's just about worn through.

Shot a banded redhead drake that was banded. It was also one of the first ducks my dog retrieved. The band looked like that as well...could make out a digit or 2. I never sent it in though.

Water was to ruff this morning for me to take my yorkie out, she loves retrieving ducks. Them mallards are as big as her it’s quite comical. That brown and white bitch can sure swim though...

I probably need to quit saying it. Even though it is proper English, it's going to get me into a poopstorm someday!

Have you seen Alex Brittingham's Jack Russel, named Gator. He is an unbelievable retriever. I love getting notification from Gator on Facebook. If you haven't seen him, do yourself a favor and find him on facebook.

It's not often I hunt in the rain. We got hit hard yesterday. Our hunt was a 12 minute lights out hunt. We no sooner got the truck to the blind and we got a frog strangler. We sat in the truck until we figured the cow rust were holding water and we were about to have a bad day of being stuck. We were slipping and sliding the whole way out.
