Saw this buck yesterday in the thick fog. I figure he was about 20-21” inside, carried mass well, figured it would be a good one for my son to shoot given the older bucks are absent in the woods.

Sat today and didn’t see him. But we have tonight, tomorrow, Sunday....a decent plan right ?

Sorry for the image quality and topsy turvy pic, the fog was real thick and these were from my iPhone and thru my rangefinder

And then....the in laws get in the way

The rule, and they know it, is to stay close to the house during deer season. I have suspected some walks and dirt biking going on when I wasn’t around, but this was just blatant, “I don’t care” action.

My son was pissed. He gave her some business but she basically said “I wanted to enjoy nature” and didn’t care.

I am about to change the locks and keep them all off the place. That’s a rant, it won’t happen, but for real, how have you all dealt with this kind of stuff before?

If it were my place... I would let them know that it's MY PLACE MY RULES and the locks to the gate have now been changed!!! At this point forward you are no longer welcome on MY LAND unless they have MY PERMISSION.

I didn’t mention it but I think it is somewhat obvious, the stand I took the pics from was the stand in the background of that game cam pic. bang

Hate to say it but YOU are responsible for what you allow others to do to you.

Haha i would change the locks and report to authorities if she returned without permission. Family or not. That's an aweful way to treat somebody when they let you use their land.

Mid 60’s. Old enough to know better.

It was really her reaction to my son talking to her about it. If she was a guy I would say it was a total dick move. She normally isn’t that way. Strange. But seriously getting fed up of the dick moves that are going on and either my wife is going to deal with her cray family or the locks will be changed out.

I totally agree. And there was a verbal agreement among everyone that movement on the place during the period from sept to feb was from gate to house, and that’s it. Last year we didn’t run into this type of behavior. This year, it’s been several dick moves by different family members. Like I said, it will get addressed in a formal way

Bot even my spot or my family and it still pisses me all the way off. Of every place in the whole wide world she could take a walk, she chose to walk right through the feeders.

Ought to be a law specifically for that, to charge someone in addition to trespassing.

Yeah, my son even said, “you could have gone to the gate and walked down the road if you wanted a good walk”

And she just totally blew him off. Not like her at all. Wonder if she is harboring some pent up frustration, she blew a gasket a couple weeks ago at my wife after she got into it with another daughter and grand-daughter. confused2

My brothers and father are the only ones allowed on my place if I'm not there and they have the right to run anybody off that they feel is not being respectful to others. specially to the hunters. I've had to address one issue in 9 years. My buddy's son and his girlfriend got in an argument and i could hear it 200 yards away. i got back to the camp and loaded their car for them. I then sent them on their way. It embarrassed them so bad that they don't even look my way if they see me.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I am currently sitting in that blind to see if anything will show up. Mainly to see what human/dog involvement in the area will do (I know what it can do, just curious if it will affect anything tonight), but mainly because I want to blast something and this is the best blind to do it.

Last night my son had to text my wife to ask her to close the garage doors, he said he could hear everyone taking and his tree was over a quarter mile away. I told my wife today that this will be addressed next season. She feels the tension, I feel the tension, and someone is gonna blow up if the tension isn’t released. Like I said, last year everyone was good, this season has been a little different. Up until this week it has been manageable and we haven’t dealt with the issue when we were hunting. But this week it was like the family just didn’t care we were there for a purpose. Was finally getting some pics of deer coming back to feeders earlier in the week. Everyone shows up and blammo, no deer. Amazing isn’t it? I mainly feel bad for my son, he hasn’t had a ton of hunting time this year since it is his first year in college. He had high hopes for this week, but he left. Couldn’t handle it anymore. And that chaps me because the place is for my family, not my in-laws. If my family can’t enjoy it, what’s the point?

Sorry guys, mainly just need a place to vent, and I know you all get it. If I complain to my son, it will just get worse. My wife hears me but she doesn’t understand the frustrations other than what she sees in both of us... cheers

And this is why there's always a line waiting for the liquor store to open around Christmas - FAMILY.

I let my father-in-law hunt on our place by Luckenbach. All I asked (multiple times) is for him to tell me when he was going; partly so I wouldn't waste my time going up there and partly for his safety. He never let me know once. Stubborn to the point of stupidity. It's bizarre how some folks treat the privaledge of being allowed on someone else's property.

We sold the place and his health, again due to his stubbornness and life choices, is to the point that he can't do much of anything. I had to watch him yesterday, all day, struggle for breath; acting cranky and belligerent. Man, I do not wanna go out that way.

Yes sir. For some strange reason there was some confusion about who owned it, my in laws or me. I made the record very straight, my name is on the deed, and it’s going to my kids through our trust. I don’t know if maybe my father in law was telling people he bought it or what, but it is mine.

Now my wife says it’s half hers, and she is correct about that, but my half is bigger
