"A Florida prosecutor yesterday filed a misdemeanor criminal count against the 20-year-old man arrested last month for allegedly engaging in sexual conduct with a pair of “large stuffed animal toys” at a Target store." LinkYou honestly never know where the truth compass is going to point these days.

I have seen some normally rational people use logical arguments to come up with absurd notions. Wow. That is the truth. I see it often. Some folks will believe the most illogical BS you can think of, while poo-pooing facts that are right in front of their face

We hunt feeders. Batting about 10% on bucks actually taken at the feeder where we hunt! Gave up on that myth years ago!

We have 4 deer stands, 2 have feeders and two are in spots we have scouted out and know are areas where deer migrate. We also have a pop up blind that we move around to other areas we know there is a possibility of seeing deer. I will also stalk our property, its only 100 acres so it isnt hard. I've killed as many deer doing that as I have sitting in a blind. I have so killed many riding in the back of the truck on the way out and coming up on them.

Heck, when I leave the house I'm hoping to murder a deer. And, I'm not looking for a fair fight. That made me laugh, I like it I haven't been back to this thread in a while, it's a good one.

LOL I love all these jacks taking offense to people making proper use of words. Words don't mean what you want them to mean just because you want it ....
Cambridge Dictionary:
"Hunt" means "to chase and try to catch and kill an animal or bird for food, sport, or profit" "Harvest" means "to pick and collect crops, or to collect plants, animals, or fish to eat"
Oxford Dictionary:
"Hunt" means "pursue and kill (a wild animal) for sport or food." "Harvest" means "a quantity of animals caught or killed for human use."
Merriam-Webster Dictionary:
"Hunt" means " to pursue for food or in sport " "Harvest" means "to gather, catch, hunt, or kill (salmon, oysters, deer, etc.) for human use, sport, or population control"
Notice the key feature of the word "HUNT" is "pursue" or "chase".
There is no definition of the word "Hunt" that covers sitting in a box and shooting a deer at a feeder... however, that act falls squarely within many of the definitions of "Harvest".
So, this has nothing to do with being " ...self-righteous, bi-polar and otherwise" or "...these guys compensating for something ..." It has to do with using the proper words to describe peoples actions. And you sir, sitting in a blind - which there is nothing wrong with - are harvesting animals, not hunting them. No one here using proper words to describe peoples actions is talking down to anyone and/or acting superior ... that non-sense is all in your head. Now stop being an easily offended snowflake.
Mr. [Binary],what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this [forum] is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

All I know is that based on the legal definition, I am a hunter. There is no "harvesting" license.

Some people hunt and some people kill, like some people fish and some people catch. Chum'em up and be successful or complain all year that you didn't kill or see anything all season. In all honestly we use feeders and stands in South Texas for safety reasons, you never know where somebody might be hiding in the bushes or how desperate they may be after crossing the river. In central Texas we really don't need it because everyone around us has them and the deer cross our place to get to the next. My 76 year old dad can but isn't going to walk all day so we set the feeder up in front of his stand. He shoots a doe on opening day then brags about the bucks he lets walk. The pictures i post with feeders in them are in front of his stand.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I hate to see any "hunter" running down any other legal "hunter", just because they don't hunt the way you prefer. I don't hunt with dogs, like they do in some states, but I don't denigrate their methods, since it is legal there.
There's not a lot of "sportsmen" (and ladies) left in the world, we need to stick together.

Tis the discussion section of the hunting forum... dont think any one tis trying ta put others methods of hunting down, one must look at the OP. He's asking for idea's.. some do get thar feelings hurt, legal tis legal, very few WMA's allow feeders... some complain about me grammar... Keep your head held high & your powder dry...

I only bow hunt and I do have several feeders but I still hunt Oak Trees and Trails. Back when I hunted with a rifle we always had winter food plots (not allowed where I hunt now) and I saw and killed way more deer on them than I ever have at a feeder alone. The times I have had the opportunity to hunt a big wheat field I was amazed at the number of deer I saw each sit, I don't remember a single sit that I did not see deer. I can't say the same thing about a feeder. I have hunted with hounds in Louisiana and fully enjoyed the camaraderie of the hounds men and the race. I won't defend or condemn one or the other as each has their place in hunting.

Ever since grade school we have been looking for a way to look down on others, in order to elevate ourselves in our own minds. Remember momma telling me this when I was picked on in school, at a very early age. Still never stopped bothering me, and I have done it to others as well and still catch myself doing it sometimes.
The God's honest truth is that Texas is literally 99% privately owned. Most landowners don't have the acreage to spot and stalk anything but a cottontail or a squirrel. In many cases a feeder is about the only reason a deer might regularly jump a fence.
Add to that, damn near everybody else has a feeder that has property. I know people that put out feeders that don't even hunt. One of my mom's neighbors has one out back right on the greenbelt on Lake Ray Hubbard and you can't hardly get away with shooting a coyote out there. Forget about actually hunting.
So all these feeders already affecting the animal's daily habits, if you are a landowner or you have a lease and you expect to see deer you damn well better have a feeder on it!!
As it has already been pointed out in this very forum on many threads other than just this one, the buck you are after doesn't visit the feeder in the daytime. He's smart and weary and you still have to hunt him. And with all the damn feeders all over the Great State of Texas, putting one out don't give you any better odds than anybody else!
End rant.
