Merry Christmas all. I made a couple of knives over the past few days and wanted to share. The longer one is made from a concrete saw blade. The scales are oak from an old mantle and ash from a baseball bat. They are separated by black micarta I made. I made the knife for a prospective customer. If he doesn't want it, I may give it to a buddy. The shorter EDC is also a concrete blade with oak scales that are end grain. It is going to my sister in law's friend. I still have to make the sheaths. Thanks for looking.

Well done! How do you heat treat and temper the blades?

I am afraid the heat treat and temper is pretty rudimentary. I heat it past magnetic, give it a little more time then quench. I check for hardness with a file then temper at 450 for a couple of hours. I dont have fancy ovens or forges but it seems to work ok.
