I've been reading about this process and seen a lot of different products people use and methods.

Just curious what our fellow THFers are using and recommend.

Someone on here once posted a link of a guy that experimented with One Shot's claim that it did not affect powder if it got mixed with the powder. He had a control, one that was lightly sprayed on the powder and one where the powder charge was literally soaked in the stuff. results were that it did not negatively effect the powder. In fact ES and SD actually improved with the soaked experiment!

DStroud….he also filled cases up with the stuff. It was good info he shared.

I use one shot and imperial depending on the job...most of the time it's one shot though.

One shot for basic reloading, the only time I use something else is for some wildcats or the 50.

Dillon case lube and one shot and Imperial

Imperial on long cases like 45-70 30-30
flip a coin on the other two both work just fine

Imperial case lube and dry neck lube. Nothing else compares.

Mostly use RCBS lube, pads, and neck brush. Wash with soapy water and clean pad every once in a while.
Sometime I use fingers and a can of saddle soap or Imperial wax (anhydrous lanolin)
I also dip necks in a small jar of bird shot with motor mica (white graphite) mixed in.

If you get lube dents on shoulder:
1. cut back on lube
2. clean dies with mineral sprit or kerosene, and polish bore with fine steel wool on a dowel rod.
3. clean out the tiny excess lube vent hole with a straight pin or 22 ga. wire.

One Shot is all I use for basic reloading. When necking 35 Whelen down to 338-06 one shot got me a stuck case and lost an expander in the process. I hand lubed all the rest of the necks with imperial after that. Once sized and trimmed I went back to one shot with no issues.

I won't use Hornady One Stuck ever again. Can anyone guess why?

I have been using an RCBS Case Lube Pad and RCBS Case Lube since 1989. I have been experimenting with Imperial Case Sizing Wax and really like it.

The RCBS Case Lube goes a long way. I am on my 3rd bottle since starting reloading in 1989. Allegedly STP Oil Treatment is the same thing.

Just my .02,

Imperial is the way to go unless you are doing volume.
