Thanks that makes more sense, my hunting group was convinced an exotic got loose lol!!!!

If he shows his head anytime but middle of the night we'll be on it.

Make sure you have help to get it out! We had four so it wasn’t too bad.

That’s what I thought, but in Lee county the only exotics we have are of a different variety all together grin

Since someone mentioned them being in other counties I wasn't sure if they have a population or if they escape from a high fence place, but I guess your point is anything not native is an exotic.

I've never seen one before so I'm just curious.

Red.

I’ve been in San Saba 11 seasons now, seen 3 Reds and one moved in till the neighbor shot him.

Large herds of them in young co. south of Graham, one ran over on 16 8 miles south of town 2 weeks ago, know a guy along the Brazos that has had 10-15 in his coastal field 8-10 years ago.

We had 3 Red deer on our lease last year in San Saba county. We are just south of Cherokee, lost 2 of them when bow season started. The third was seen on camera Think in early February but have not seen since.

Really? Sure wish they'd make their way north a bit. I hunt off of 16 north of Loving and also have a place out by Bryson...but if one did show up I don't know what the hell I'd do with it. I tore my right bicep tendon trying to lift one my brother shot on an exotic ranch 12 years ago and there were at least 4 of us lifting that beast up. Fortunately I had shot one before hand too as I wouldn't have even been able to shoot my gun afterwards. I do use a hoist but the hoist isn't rated for the weight of a red stag. They sure are tasty.
