My initial testing of Custom Reloads of Dallas' 6.5 Grendel Speer Gold Dots showed them to be plenty accurate and have great penetration capability. So I had the opportunity to line up a twofer on a small hog in front and a giant target of a sow in the back. The line was good, but the small hog in the front was quartered toward me and the bullet hit the spine, causing it to deflect many inches to the left before exiting and impacting the target sow may 12-18" farther left than I would have anticipated, no doubt because of going through at least 3 vertebrae in the process. Managed to shoot a second very large (240 lb) sow and the Gold Dots did a very good job on her.

I strongly suspect that third hog is now the main attraction at the local coyote cafe, if the TBPS hasn't already cleaned it up! Nice shooting.
I have two unwritten rules: 1. 2.

That long shot was pretty dang good sniping. The audio of the bullet impacts are also further proof of why using a suppressor is so beneficial. Charlie

Charlie, YES. The sound of the shot is quelled more and cut off sooner such that you can hear the sound of the impact most of the time. It is a satisfying sound. It doesn't always get picked up in the video, but it is fun when it does.

Impressive videos and shooting DNS. How do you like the Grendel vs 6.8 SPC? I like the Grendel just fine. Both are capable calibers for this sort of work.

Good work, DNS! Looks like you've got a lot more work ahead of you on that property.
