I don't know where I have been on this one. But for some reason I started noticing the Speed God Dot's more in rifle ammo. I know LEO's have used them with great success. I've loaded some in several calibers now and the on-game results and comments I've seen have been great. I'm thinking about trying these out myself. They have several weights in .308" and several in 6.5mm for the CM and Grendel. I love a good bonded bullet, and at the cost of these, it's very attractive.

Has anyone else used these in their hunting rifles? If so, how do they do? I'm planing on ordering some .308" in 150 grain to try out.

I did some research on SBR loads for 556 and the gold dots came out on top. There are a few videos out there with testing out of short barrels.

I shot a couple of TX deer (a doe and an 8-point) with 90 grain Gold-Dot bullets in a 6.8 SPC (handloads, not the XM68GD load). Both were vitals hits, the doe went 30 yards, the buck went 15. Shot distance was about 20 yards for each of them.

Overall, I was impressed.

I've been using the 115 gr gold dots in my 68mm with great success. They are inexpensive & expand with minimal impact velocity (range) & retain 100% of their original weight. I have yet to punch a deer this year with a 130 gr .277 GD which are now sold as a component bullet from Federal called a fusion. It's a Speer GD. Speer's design is just a very soft lead bullet with a plated jacket. Since the jacket is deposited on the core, not swaged, it will not separate - period. To me, this is THE BULLET for the hunter. They do need to work on improving the BC for the long range aficionados but this is a real game changer IMHO!

I've used a fair amount of 5.56 on pigs. Always did the job. Sometimes GT has LE returns & you can get it for stupid cheap.

Gold Dots are pretty much the same a Federal Fusion which has been killing fine for several years.

Like DStroud, I picked up two boxes of Speer Impacts for my 308. The design seems pretty ideal.

Listed BC's can't be right on the Gold dots or the Impacts

The 6.5 140 Impact does look a little optimistic

No way they are right on the Gold Dots. I have the 172 grain .308 Impacts. I can believe those are .522.

On another site a member speaks highly on the 150 grain Gold Dot designed for the Blackout. He is shooting in a 30-30 Contender rifle on hogs.
