I like fake trees but I've never had the opportunity to inspect any fakes other than that. I've examined from little bitty to great big but they were all real.

They aren't fake if you can touch them, just saying!

This is our first year with an artificial tree, and it's pre-lit. Wife and I have both been swamped at work this fall and with out of town weekend plans nearly every weekend, we haven't had time to do much decorating. The tree is up and lit, but no ornaments, hopefully tonight. In the past, we've gone to tree farms around Central Texas and cut one down but the past few years have been hot and sweaty for a below average tree at an above average price.

We always had a real, big tree.
Early in our marriage we didn't have $100 to spend on a big tree so I'd go down to the tree lot (they had those back then) on Christmas Eve. The owner would tell me "get whatever you want".
I'd take a giant spruce back home and we would decorate it over a few cups of nog.

Later in life buying a tree and putting up tons of lights was normal.

Kids are grown, married, etc., we are older now.

Simple is better.
I put out a few lights outdoors, she decorates a small tree we got from Balsam Hill.
Looks great, takes less time.

Simple.

A pre-lit fake for us, I like the convenience of it.

Cedar will do that to you. I put up a pine of some sort. Just have to make sure you cut a couple of inches off bottom and keep em watered. Ex put up a fake tree once. That thing was ridiculous to store. Real ones I can throw on the fire at annual cook out and freak everyone out. [Linked Image]
