Isn't it mule deer season in Texas? Some of you mule deer huntin' fellers need to fill us in. I'm headed to the Davis mountains in a few weeks to hunt the rut (MLD) and I'm dying to hear some stories from folks that have already been chasing desert mulies.

Yes, I'm still hunting. Here's one that got hit on the highway out in front of the entrance to our place. I found him in the ditch up against the fence, still alive, as he was hit in the rear end. I called the game warden, dispatched the buck, and the game warden showed up and took it, which was fine. Rough scored at 181".

Can we talk about something else?

I missed mule deer season and I’m not real happy about it

I took a crazy horned cull buck near Canyon early in the season before Thanksgiving. Posted it on the forum a few weeks ago.

My mule deer season sucked in the South Plains, never saw a shooter and I hunt two counties. I did tag out on two whitetail though. Saw more whitetails than ever before. Both bucks were rutting around mule deer doe. Lamb and Hale counties. Big boy is 20” inside
