Bad. Just bad. Saw some on main trail to camp coming in but that was it. Killed a hog, shot at 3 coyotes but no quail. We did get our camp set up nice and will go back but mostly to hog hunt and spring turkeys.

That last one is for Bill. That's as far as I could get with a 2wd pulling that load. Made it about a mile in. Problem is, camp is about 5 miles in. Once I got the mule off, I made it on to camp then the ranch cowboy took me back to get the mule. Fun times. Luckily it dried up by the time we left 3 days later. That red dirt is something when it gets wet. Slick as snot.

The xmas lights really tie it all together Clark - props for going; we're not hunting our lease in Kent County this year.

I haven’t heard any good reports or found a covey in the last three trips. I’ve learned riding around bird country in a mule drinking cold beer with old friends still beats a lot of other things. Walking around carrying a shotgun all day without a point really sux. Thank God for Mules, cold beer, and good friends!

That red dirt is as slick as a school boy's snotty sleeve. This I know.

You were very fortunate to get that far.

I have given up on quail in North Texas.
We were finding 30 coveys a day 4 years ago now zilch!
It is sad, my dog has become a dove retriever.

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.

Been a slight come back at my place in Dickens. Haven't hunted yet. Been focused on Deer however I have 3 coveys on my 160 acres. One with 12 , one with 8 and another with 6.Been watching them at my feeders as I add milo to help and keep em around. Will do some light hunting this month and January.
