Bass Pro in Garland has it. It is kept behind the shelf at the gun counter. You have to ask for it. Then they will ask what you are needing it for. Weird. It is considered an explosive, so there are different rules compared to smokelss powder.

Piper I went to BP in Garland and asked for it. They said they didn't carry the real Black Powder just the Pyrodex . Maybe I talked to someone that didn't know. He was behind the counter in the gun section so you'd think he would know.

Maybe they stopped carrying it? It is much more difficult for stores to handle black powder compared to smokeless. Try Two Wright Arms in Springtown maybe. They sell a lot of BP guns and gear. It was about 2 years ago when I bought some from BPS in Garland.

Like I said in my previous, they cannot sell real black powder in Dallas County. You have to go to Gibson's Outpost in Mesquite if you want real black powder within driving distance of that area. Gibsons had Goex FFFFg, FFFg, FFg, Schutzen FFg and Swiss FFg about a week ago and they have always had at least some when I needed it. I always call first and ask for the brand and granulation I want. Everyone that has taken my call has been knowledgeable about what exactly they had it stock.

Something must have changed since I went there last time. Luckily I have several pounds of Goex and my summer Colorado vacation this year is in Manitou Springs. Across from our B&B is The Mountain Man Shop. They sell BP guns and supplies. Will have to buy several pounds while I am there. They were $5 a pound cheaper than BPS last time I was there.

Make your own. Its not that hard. Atwoods has the potassium nitrate( stump remover) sulfer dust( garden area), charcoal made at home, ballmill made from a section of 8 inch pipe and a swimming pool water pump to power it. I use glass marbles to mill the mix.

Just saw on Midway USA that they will soon be selling real black powder online. They often run promotions where they wave the hazmat fee for a $150 or so minimum order on powder and primers.
