I like my chicken fried.

I like my mashed potatoes lumpy.

I no longer deep fry at home. Today is Tuesday.

Popeyes has a Tuesday special of a thigh and drumstick for a dollar. I went all in. I got three for $3. I came up with this.

I'll have it a couple more times but never two nights in a row.

Sorry Bill, don’t eat chicken off the bone. Like chicken breast and strips. Got some on the bone at a Resturant years ago, wont name the place, but got down to the bone. And will just say, turned me off from bone on chicken......

Thought I had made off like a thief but the price is not all that great. I'll get 6 meals out of my rack of ribs from tomorrow's Saint Louis ribs.

Thanks a bunch for your kind words. I emailed this thread to my daughter to show her how much the business has changed in this area.

Looks fine to me bill, I like some fried chicken.

Fed my family of 4 my FIL and SIL and niece the other night. So 7 people (1 child and 2 toddlers, but I also made two lunches for my wife and I for work the next day) on $10 of pork chops less than $1 of potatoes for French fries, and about $3-4 bucks for some homemade mac n cheese.$14-15 meal. That's a store bought meal. The following are 3 meals from this week and I spent less on them.

Tonight we are having deer steak mashed taters and green beans. Not counting the cost of the deer meat it will be a very cheap meal.

Last night was deer chili frito pie with crescent rolls.

Night before that was fried and blackened home caught catfish

I feed my family for less $$$ than most people spend on lunch for themselves every day.

Some smart guy around here says... its not about what you make its about what you save or don't spend. I believe the same. That and im just plain tight, frugal, cheap etc. I don't care which one you call it and it doesn't offend me.

Lol yeah.

For the person who likes fried chicken, peas and carrots and mashed potatoes, it will like more like a good meal rather than chit. That same person could hate beef and tell us that the best ribeye we have ever seen looks like chit and he would be as wrong as well.
For the record, I hate peas and carrots, but that is irrelevant in this case.

My spaghetti sauce is heavily meaty and comes out at $2.22 per person, so with noodles and a veggie I'm under $3.00. I make it in the crockpot and it makes 10 servings.

A fried chicken thigh and a baked potato would be enough for me.

that was my Tuesday night go to meal while living in a hotel in Palmdale CA for 25 months ... 2x Tuesday specials and a family size red beans and rice, about $7 total that was good for two evenings after pulling a 16 hour day plus 2 hours drive (1 hour each way).
