This time of the year , they were probably eating someones landscaping.
Many states give farmers depredation tags to shoot deer on their crops, we know a guy in Nebraska. Sad part is the state will not let hunters use those tags, the landowners has to shoot the deer and they leave them lay due to too much meat. Our friend once had permits for hundreds of whitetail on his crop circles. They got tired and fed up with shooting deer and leaving them lay, and they do allow hunting.

There are plenty of plants that deer don't eat. Some of the prettiest yards I've ever seen are in Gruene. Salvias. Turks cap, esperanza, yucca, etc. Plenty of native plants that deer don't eat. Lady bird Johnson wildflower center has all the info you need.

Adios,

I know some people who work at professional/licensed grow operations in Colorado and they'll tell you that deer absolutely eat cannabis plant leaves. I've actually ran across a few guerrilla grows in both Sam Houston and Davy Crockett NF while out scouting/hunting... my understanding is that the cartels started using the NF's for their gorilla grows.... I can 100% see some cartel minions popping deer that get close to their grows and then dragging them off and dumping them for any number of reasons.

I hear tell that a black panther breeding operation was having to kill some deer because they were causing trouble with the cats fighting each other. It’s either that or the chupacabra.
