Been hunting my place South of Bowie for over 30 years. Have now seen 3 deer hunting feeders. When walking, it sounds like walking on bubble wrap. Corn is piling up under feeders. Oh well, I would rather have a healthy deer population than corn eaters. Have now heard less than 5 shots in the area.

Be patient...the acorns will sour (some will get wormy) in due time. Bucks at the end of this month will be deeply post rut and keying in on food sources again in an attempt to regain some weight. I often see some of the best bucks of the season post rut, late season. It ain't over yet.

I have a feeder in the back yard in Harrison county and the past 2 weeks the deer have just disappeared. Yesterday I had a few show back up and tonight I had the usual parade show up just before dark. I think all of the wind we had a couple of weeks ago made the rest of the acorns drop and the deer switched back to them. Now that they have been eaten or have spoiled they will start showing back up at the feeders. At least I hope so as we bow hunt only and feeders and trails to them really help. Good hunting.

Yep. I have hunted my area for 20+ years and this year the acorns are on trees that I never saw an acorn on. The deer aren't hitting the feeders as much but they are on the corned roads between bedding and acorns.

I don’t even try to be quiet anymore heading to the feeder in the back. I just still hunt on the way in, hoping I sound like a 260 pound animal. The good news is they’re wiping them out almost as fast as they fall. My best hunting for big bucks has been after Christmas. As stated above, the natural forage is gone and those big boys are hungry. Tickles me that most people don’t hunt much after thanksgiving, I’m not going to try educate them. I’ve actually heard them say, “maybe next year” on the Sunday after thanksgiving. The rut is over and their kitchen pass is revoked.

I have acorns everywhere but the bucks seem to be getting back into their bachelor groups and coming to the feeder again just before dark. Seeing the old familiar bucks that have been awol for a few weeks. Glad to see they survived so far.

Being right by you, crazy seeing doe and bucks walk 150 yards away and nothing at feeder. Just that way. Always been. Sure some doe and tiny buck hit it but that is it year round. Usual for Montague.

Same way here
My corn pile has sat so long it’s lost a lot of its color
The corn is closer to white than yellow
Tough year

Hunting Saturday, I saw a buck stroll by a feeder without even looking at the ground.

I have hunted most weekends since bow opener and have not had one deer in bow range all season. I've hunted over feeders, handcorn piles, trails, oat fields, and around oak trees. I've seen several deer out of range cruise right past feeders. I've even had some luck calling deer in just not quite within range. This has been a far from normal year for us. Acorns are everywhere. I noticed this weekend that the blackjack oaks still haven't even dropped theirs yet. We hardly even have hogs coming to feeders. I'm at a loss as for what to do. I'm planning on waiting until the last couple weeks of the season and hunting it hard one last time. I may have to break out a rifle but would rather not.

I put out about two 5 gallon buckets of old pecans and saw lots of deer on them but once the pecans were gone the deer moved close to the acorns.

Once again, hunted, saw nothing and heard no shots. This is getting old. Had this place30+ years and haven’t seen it this bad in a long time. How long before they rot with no rain?

I'm going on 6 sits in a row without seeing a deer. It's like aliens came and took them away. I'm 10 minutes from " the 'ville". So just maybe...

2 days and haven’t heard a shot or seen anything. I still have some on trees. This season is toast. But, I’ll keep hunting. It beats not hunting.
What I really need is rain. My ponds/tanks are 5 ft low.

Hunted in the Valley Springs area all weekend and its unbelievable all the acorns on the ground. Deer and hogs are barely coming to the feeders. Of course the warm temps and full moon didn't help either.
That's my $.02. Here's you're change!!
