I am in the market for a new shotgun. I am looking for a good duck/turkey combo. Unlike the last guy looking for a shotgun, I am open to suggestions. I will say that i have been looking at the benelli supernova and the mossberg 930/935 options. I currently shoot a mossberg 88. Very cheap shotgun, but it has done everything for me. Not trying to break the bank, but willing to pay a little more for quality. Thank you.

The most even patterning shotgun and factory chokes with steel and lead factory loads I have ownd I regret trading it away was a Mossberg 835. I got a Benelli after that and id did ok but really stepped uo a lot for turkey when I got an after market choke or 3

I'm partial to Berettas. The A300 is a great value. Look online and you can find them under $600.

For reasonable money, the Franchi Affinity/Intensity with 3.5" chamber has worked very well for me.

I shoot s camo A300 outlander.

It’s my waterfowl gun but would work fine for turkey

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Budget?

I had a 930 for a few years. I used it for everything from dove to clays to 3 gun. It had 5000ish rounds through it when I sold it. I had a couple minor issues but nothing I couldn’t fix. I can’t say I would recommend one—I’ve read a lot of horror stories about them over the years.

If you want a shotgun to do it all, Benelli M2 is your answer. But they aren’t cheap.

The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

I'm looking around the $700 price range, but willing to sleep on the couch for a few days if necessary.

Also have been looking at a new Shotty. Last ones were Beretta's - 390, 391 Urika, with an 11-87 and Win 1400xtr thrown in, a Nova and a totally worn out Mossy 500.
Both the Mossy 500 and the 391 failed during coyote hunts. 391 was just dirty though. but not that dirty.... lol.

For various reasons, one being a Walnut stock, I ordered the Mossy 930. I don't know if its 100% american made, but I know virtually all the other sub 1K have Turkish parts made.

Not super picky about that, seen the factory videos CNC stuff looks great, etc. My second choice was going to be the Weatherby 20ga.

but, you know, just give this one a try. The only ones I have read much recent problems about are the "tactical" tricked out ones anyway, lol, and the owners who do not clean them.
funny, but that Win 1400 demanded cleaning very very often.

I hope whatever you get it turns out to be awesome smile

Forum says "Veteran Tracker". I could not track a garbage truck into a fireworks factory.

If you don't mind shooting a pump gun check out the Ithaca Model 37. The Model 37 is a John Browning design that features bottom loading and bottom ejection. The current model guns are produced in Ohio.

Luck favors the prepared mind.

Another vote for the A300. Lower on the pay scale, I’d recommend mossberg 930. I have one I paid $300 for 10 yrs ago and never a hiccup. I consider it a very capable and reliable backup to my A300.

I do like the Mossberg 930, but in think its between the A300 and the Franchi.
