I went to pull camera cards and fill a couple of feeders this morning and on one of the feeders, the solar charger was bent over and facing the ground. The aluminum mount was nearly unrepairable. I knew it was a coon but until I looked at the pictures on the card, I did not know the scope of the problem. That particular feeder has six to eight coons showing up every night and wreaking havoc on the feeder and charger. I normally don't worry about a couple of coons, heck, I don't even mind them stealing corn. The deer seem to appreciate the effort they put in to rake it out of the feeder tube as several pics showed the deer under the coons, picnicing away. However, eight coons is way too many of the little......darlings. The best I can tell, it looks like the same coon does the climbing every night. A couple of distinguishing marks and the exact same route every time convinces me I have identified the scofflaw. So I went back and set 6 Duke's traps after dinner today. I will go in the morning and take my S&W M&P22 and start thinning the herd a little.

People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf
