Well I have been itching a lot lately, just kiddin. Its for the farm dog. I got him off craigslist a couple weeks ago. How do you guy deal with the mange. I have some MARTINS permythrin 10% that I usually dip the dog with and notice it also can be used for the mange. It kills mites.

If its an outside dog, rub it down in used motor oil. It works.

May be food allergies. Try a none poultry and no grains diet. It fixed my pup immediately

Ivermectin is effective against this. Readily available just make sure you use the proper solution ratio. Works really well if applied correctly. But you also most likely need a vet that can up the normal dose of heart worm medication as this can treat the mites as well.

I went with the martins stuff and will see how it works out . While researching this stuff in the amazon link everyone that has used it has high ratings. The only draw back is some have said it can kill dogs with Australian Sheppard in the mix. Some thing about a gene that is not compatible with the medicine. Only putting this out there so some one does not have a bad reaction while using it on their dog. If Im wrong well excuse me .

Absolutely DO NOT do that. That is an old wives tale and can make your dog sick as hell or kill it.

Motor oil doesn't kill demodex mites.

Ivermectin works.

Allergies are bad this year for whatever reason - in dogs they present as skin problems. One of our labs is covered in what looks like ring worms and has hair loss in those spots - it's not - it's allergies. An allergy med like Apoquel clears it up quick...it's just expensive as heck - at "cost" my wife pays around $200 a bottle.

Thanks for the help . I did get a hold of the bravecto , although they are chewables.
I used the martins stuffs so far and it seems to be working . He seems to have stopped the intense scratching and also the spot under his hind leg is looking better . I will keep a eye out and try some of the other options if I need to . Thanks

Be very careful with Ivermectin.

At a Vets recommendation, I overdosed and killed a dog

Long story but he wrote down to give her 4 cc’s

What he meant was .4 cc’s

Anyway, I don’t use him anymore but it’s a true story

Go to a vet. get a diagnosis. Get a treatment plan.

Bravecto and Nexgard chewables are great for fleas, ticks, and mites. You'll need to see a vet.

Has to be used from what I have seen it used. I don't know if it works. I knew and old fool back in Florida who put used motor oil on his dog for mange.

I highly doubt it worked, and the dog looked all messed up being covered in oil.

Well articulated. A vet started my dogs on Ivermec 25 years ago. He gave me my first bottle and syringes for letting his horse stay on my lot. He was a Brittany man.

Are you guys referring to demodectic or sarcoptic mange?

My Ibex don't get mange but do get ear or range mites. Kinda like mange of the ears, face and neck. I use either pour on Cydectin or axle grease.

Mix mineral oil and sulphur.
1 - Soak the dog all over.
Skip a day.
2 - Soak the dog again.
Skip a day.
3 - Soak the dog again.
You are done and so is the mange.
