I watched a dominate 8-point make a rub on a small cedar bush 15 yards from the feeder the other evening. This feeder has been empty far about a month since I have another feeder close by and can't hunt two at a time. I just refilled it and set up a better blind.
The question is: Now I have seen 2 young bucks come close to the feeder. They both were nervous and ran off within 15 seconds. They came at different times. They never looked at me and I didn't see anything else that would scare them off. Could it be the buck rub? Should I cut the bush down and remove it?
Thanks in advance.

You’re overthinking it. You want to trade two young bucks for a dominate buck? Doesn’t make sense to me. Stop worrying about it and just hunt.

The dominant buck is making the rub for a reason. Bucks will shred small saplings and brush to release pent-up testosterone and impress does or to warn other bucks to stay away. The larger the tree, the larger the buck that made the rub but that part is pretty much moot here since you saw the buck make the rub. The buck will be back to tend the rub so I would not give up on the idea of hunting the larger buck. I would not move away from an active rub. Best of luck.

Thanks for the responses. While I'm probably over thinking the situation, I'm living 150 yards from the blind an sit in it most afternoons and some mornings...being retired is great! Therefore I can almost name the bucks by their antlers. That's why I'm interested in their behavior. Before retirement I was like many of y'all and got 3 to 5 days to get a deer every year.
