 How often do you check hog traps?

Curious how long everyone takes to check your set traps? How long would you think a hig/hogs stay alive with a full 50lb bag of corn in the trap? 2 days?

Every other day or so. Dehydration is more of a concern then food.

I have my traps shut down through the deer season, but I normally check them every day.

I check daily...but on occasion will check on the second day. Food is not an issue with trapped hogs, dehydration and 'stress' from trying to escape are your concerns. Exposure to weather elements is typically not an issue this time of year, but in the summer months they need to be dealt with as quickly as possible.
The type and size of your trap(s) might also affect how the hogs behave once caught.

Every day for me also. If I’m going to be away for more than a day I disable the tip wire and wire the door open.

I check every day. Not to hijack this thread, but do y'all shut down your traps during hunting season? I can't have corn in my feeder right now because I duck hunt the same property. I tried liquid baits, but no luck.
