Failed poll. I plan to hunker down and watch the fruitcake bowl.

Thankfully we always host. Told all our family several years ago we were no longer traveling for Thanksgiving or Christmas....it's been glorious.

I'm starting to put my foot down like this about Christmas, but I don't mind traveling for Thanksgiving.

We will go from Austin to Frisco to Windthorst to hunt, then back to Austin. One way is less than 500 miles, but round trip may end up being 600. Wife doesn't hunt so we are taking separate cars and she will drive herself home, I guess that means our vehicles will combine for close to 1,000 in the next few days. Yay. eeks333

It is about a 60 yard walk to our neighbors house, but then if it s raining I may get my wife to drive me there.

300 miles or so from ranch to in laws in Gruene. Friday I pick up my buck from "Double nickel" taxidermy. Already had a 'Storms special' this afternoon and 'Rudys' this evening. Turkey tomorrow. I'll probably gain 5 lbs. At least.

We host.

I’m already anxiously waiting to get called in to work. No peace and quiet here.

I'll take your shift. What exactly do you do again?

We’re in Mississippi today. Headed over to Alabama Friday to see my family.

We usually stay in TX for Thanksgiving and travel for Christmas, but with baby boy arriving on 12/19 we’ll be home for Christmas. Not sure what the future will bring.

If it weren’t for our grandparents, everyone would have to come see us.

With our children now scattered all over the country (Ruidoso, NM and Missoula, MT) the wife and I are staying home. I have a wagyu ribeye that will hit the grill about noon.

Our kids and Grandkids are in Alaska and California - but we are making a full-on dinner to enjoy quietly together at home. Then a nice fire in the fireplace while sipping adult beverages. It's a simple home, but we are thankful for what we have. This is our backyard looking through the windows flanking the fireplace.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

We will be dinning with my wife's mother today in the nursing home about 35 miles away. She is pretty much immobile these days.
She is a great person.

We all have a lot to be thankful for today and every day.
