Heading up this weekend, hunted there many times and tent camped before but thinking of towing my camper up this time due to rain and storms in forecast. Anyone know of units/spots with good place to park camper? I see there are 3 designated camping areas on map but none are very close to units i prefer to hunt. Any advise would be greatly appreciated! In past have hunted around unit 37

Also is there any rut activity going on around wise county?

Pretty sure camping is only allowed in designated camp sites. There are no parking areas around most units.

Agreed, according to the Forest Service website, you are only suppose to camp in designated camping areas during deer general season. I think the Tadra Point camping is one of those and has the room for trailers.

Thanks, thats what i needed to know. Now i know ive seen campers pulled inside gate of hunting units during season, but i dont want to be 'that guy' if its technically not allowed. Good luck and happy Thanksgiving everyone

Good luck out there. I'll be curious to hear your experience. I've always stayed away Thanksgiving weekend because of the rumors of it being a war zone.

Thanks, i havnt been in a few years on doe weekend but in the past it wasnt horrible. Have always been able to find areas void of people or atleast units with minimal hunters. Sure my go to spots may be occupied but thats how public hunting goes some days
