Do you make you own pies or dessert if so what type? Or do you purchase one, if so who makes the best pies you can buy?

I made Karo pecan pies for years. I used store bought. This year I only mad 2 dump cakes which I posted on another thread.

My wife makes some of the best banana pudding on the planet!!

It's been years. May buy some from the deli section. I'd stuff myself if I made a full recipe.

We always make ours. As a general rule, the wife will make a Pecan, Pumpkin Chiffon, and a Buttermilk with meringue. The Pumpkin Chiffon and Pecan will go to the family gathering, the Buttermilk will stay at our house for my eating pleasure.

I make a boat load of cupcakes and cookies for the kids for school.

My two favorite deserts are oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and pecan pie.

I buy the betty crocker bag cookie mix. Use real butter and don't melt it, just soften it, it makes 3x the work mixing it up but its better and do not over cook them. I take them as deserts to everywhere and everyone says they are the best and thinks I have a magical secret recipe. I told one of the ladies at our kids daycare it was bag cookie mix and she laughed and still thinks im lying. Maybe alton brown should do a good eats on it, but not melting the butter in cookies, pie crusts, rolls etc. makes a difference.

Ive never made a pecan pie... bill millers around us has a pretty good one.

One of my buddies wife makes the best banana pudding ive ever had. She puts sweetened condesnsed milk in it.

Get our pies at the Texas Pie Co. In Kyle. Chocolate cream, pecan, and apple.

My Mom used that too and it was killer!

My daughter is the baker. She'll have at least 2 pies for me this year. Good ol pecan and no telling what the other will be but it will be good!

My favorite is warm Pecan pie with vanilla ice cream, then next it is some kick azz Banana pudding

1 box of each banana and vanilla instant pudding(mixed per directions)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
bananas (sliced)
whipped cream
vanilla wafers

Mix the pudding and sweetened condensed milk together and let it "puddingify"
Layer in dish alternating sliced bananas/pudding/wafers/whipped cream(repeat and top with wafers.

The wife can make incredible pies, but "Angstgiving" has become so big and tense that now she usually buys some. They're still very, very good.

Several years ago we sent two home with her mother in pie savers (those plastic plates with covers). Christmas the MIL brings the pie savers back. The wife comes to me right after they arrive and says "Come'ere. I wanna show you something," and we go back in the laundry room. She opens one of the pie savers and there's the untouched (except by nature) pie. Of course she says "Don't you tell ANYONE!" And of course, I tell, and show, all four of our kids. Good times!

Luv deserts! But in last 30 years, very few consumed at our house. Always to much good food and no room for deserts. If there are any, usually eaten next day....... Daughters cheese cake is top on the list if I have desert.

For future reference: there are 2 s's in "dessert". Y'all are literally killin' me.

At a minimum pumpkin, apple and pecan pie. Likely a coconut cake and a fruit salad.

The older I get, the more I crave coconut cake.

Pumpkin and pecan, usually make them ourselves, if we have ti we go to McKays bakery here in town.

Apple, frozen wild blackberry from spring, pumpkin from can, and pecan from my tree. Always make at least two for thanksgiving.
