Thought I would start a thread on the wildlife we see going to and from the ranch we do some work for.
The bighorn sheep are starting to rut. These were along the highway on state land. Sure would have like to found this big guy back in the season. My ram has more mass but he is impressive with his curl.

Almost had to chain up to get in and out of the ranch. Changed our Thanksgiving plans of trapping and calling coyotes.
Up slope winds put the drifts in new places.

An update, we found the bigger ram dead this weekend. Was a vehicle accident on the highway. GW let us take the head and we'll get him cleaned up and then put a tape to it.
He was aged at 8 yrs.

1st step is done, hide removal, now over to our taxidermist so he can keep it warm enough for the horns to rot loose. Spouse will boil it clean then and back to the taxi for him to re attach the horns.
He's a great looking ram but after a quick tape measure I'm beginning to understand just how big my ram is.
This guy is 13 1/2-14 inches at the base and 34 and 32 inches long, carries his mass well. [Linked Image]
