I've always wanted my weapons ready to go when needed. Cycling a pump action sounds cool and looks great in the movies. However, in real life you may have just dumped a round on the ground and given away your position. It's a bad idea to bluff as a law enforcement officer.

I believe you have already given away your position when you hollered at him. And knowing the LEO I would doubt he was bluffing, just giving the guy a chance to save his rear.

You won't give your position away if you holler "I'm over there!". laugh

The chief of police in the town I grew up in kept the shotgun on the front of the wire rack between the front and rear seat. When I was in the back seat (another story for another day), the other teen and I depressed the eject button and I slowly slid the pump back several times and ejected all of his shells into the front seat. He was not a happy camper when he got back in the patrol car (although he should've been happy because we could have chose to just blow the side of the car off). I have a feeling he changed the location of his gun/type of screen after that evening. nidea

A shotgun is a great tactical weapon.

#4 Buck makes more sense to me and is what I have loaded in mine at home. I just like the idea of a higher quantity of shot and perhaps a bit more of a spread.

Also a great personal defense gun and varmint gun. I keep an 870 with an extended mag loaded with slug in the chamber and alternate 00 buck and slugs in the mag. Side-saddle on the receiver holds 3 more bucks and three more slugs.

Stays hm for a defense gun or with me as a truck gun....

I put the adjustable stock on it so it can be adjusted for me as my truck gun or my wife as a home defense gun when I'm away for work...

Ugly but effective... up

No need to delete, game wardens appreciate us taking care of the injured deer instead of them getting called out at 2am. I remember one evening chatting with a gw when a call went out of car vs deer. We both went to the area and I found the deer in the ditch with a broke hip. The warden asked what he could do to help and I asked him to hold the flashlight so I could put her down. After the shot, he said he wished all LEO would do this, it would save them all a lot of time.

I've done the same thing when I was LEO. I would text or call the GW and let him know what and where. They were always very appreciative we were taking care of it for them. Never did it without notifying the GW first.

Never called the gw before putting a deer down simply tell dispatch in case of shots fired calls and have carcass collected
Heck supervisors have asked callers to put them down themselves if real busy
