Kids will be at grandmas and it’s just gonna be me and the wife from Thursday- Sunday.

She has hinted at taking a trip somewhere and I’m kind of stumped as to where to go.

We have already been to Vegas this year and was in Fredericksburg last week doing the wine thing.

She went to New York over the summer so that is probably off the table ( I wouldn’t want to go on a holiday weekend anyway).

Anyone have an suggestions on where to go? We do have the option of pulling an RV if it’s reasonable distance. Also have enough miles that our airfare would be pretty much free as long as we fly southwest.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Thanksgiving is one of the most busiest if not the busiest time of year to fly.

Garner State Park is nice this time of year, but it may be booked up, a lot of people spend their Thanksgiving out there.

I would guess a lot of the state parks will be already booked up by now. if you were to fly on Thanksgiving day, I have heard the airports/planes are not crowded but then your return trip could be overly packed.

Always Austin (Bob Bullock museum, LBJ Library, do a BBQ troll), San Antonio (Riverwalk, Seaworld, Fiesta TX), Dallas, Fort Worth (stock yards), etc. even Waco (TX Rangers HOF, Cameron Park Zoo, Homestead Grist Mill) ... possibly find a RV park for your RV.

I booked my RV spot 2 months ago for next weekend. Even then I did not get the spot I wanted.

You can come over to Alabama and take my wife shopping for new bedroom furniture. I am not looking forward to next Friday.

Some ski resorts are open already if you’re into that.

We use to camp with a big group every year for thanksgiving. It’s a great time of the year to hit up the state parks if you can find openings.

Check to see if Tin Valley Retro Rentals has any openings. https://tinvalleyretrorentals.com/
It is down by Terlingua, they have a bunch of redone "campers" , just a neat place.

An RV trip sounds quick and easy. But you can do that, I suppose, pretty much whenever and do it with the kids. Do something more fun. Don't tell her anything other than pack light for a beach trip. Jerk Chicken will be Thanksgiving. Southwest to Montego Bay, Jamaica.

I like the clothing optional idea. Check out the "land yacht".

After I saw that I found an old cabin cruiser for sale, it was like an old car, body wise it was in great shape, mechanically a disaster. I wanted to get it and make a camper at our place by one of the stock tanks. I was vetoed. bang

We had a great time in Nashville last year over Christmas. Broadway is a heck of a time if you like beer and country music.

I hear you, Marvin. Our place is a boat graveyard. Kind of like an elephant graveyard except totally different.
