I stumbled upon a factory 308 load from Sellier Bellot that you can buy for $ 12.00 a box

I’ve been using the 150 grain version of their Soft Point Cutting Edge (SPCE) for about a month

5 shots - 5 hits - 5 dead

Longest ran 50 yards, 2 of 5 shots not optimally placed (too far back) - still dead

4 of 5 pass throughs (hogs 200 lbs or less).

Finally got a recovery this past weekend - shot was 40 yards broadside - bullet struck lower shoulder arm and hit the bone squarely , continued traveling straight missed the heart by 2 inches broke lower ribs entered offside front leg and was recovered along bone opposite shoulder - took a direct bone strike and 18” of hog to stop this bullet.

He ran 20 yards

250 lbs

$12.00 a box ....

You’re Welcome smile

Certainly excellent results, and a good price!
I figure it costs me between 45-50¢ a round to reload 150 grain Hornady SP bullets, assuming that I get free brass from friends who don't reload
At $12/box that's 60¢/round.

Not bad at all!

Tell me again, what was the retained weight of that recovered bullet?

122 grains recovered weight

Jacket and core are not bonded , I deconstructed the bullet after weighing it - if anybody cares to see those photos I can take some and post ...

Consistently 1 MOA

4 shot on hand warmer with a 2x mag thermal optic
