It's a real mast year in my neighborhood this year. The pecans are stacking up in my driveway.



I decided to make a dump cake. It's sort of like a cobbler. The recipe calls for a can of crushed pineapple, topped with a can of cherry pie filling, topped with a package of yellow cake mix, topped with pecans.



I ended with two of these.



The aroma of the vanilla in the cake mix filled the entire house. Pass the vanilla ice cream please.

never tried a dump cake with pecans ... I love pecans but my wife doesn't care for any kind of nuts in her desserts other than pecan pie. I might have to give that a try.

This original recipe calls for a 10 by 13 Pyrex dish. It's a great dish to get your kids involved if you have pecans.

Do you add any liquid, butter, eggs, etc.

The original,recipe calls for topping it with butter. I sprayed Witt butter flavored Pam.

I have also used stewed fresh peaches, apples, or pears for the bottom layer.

I cut up a stick of butter and put it on top, but I’ll have to add pecans next time. Thanks for posting

The original recipe called for butter on top. I had problems with thin slices. Squeeze margarine was perfect.
