I made a comparison video with a few of the current thermal scopes and scanners on the market. The videos were taken simultaneously so no issues regarding varying thermal conditions. I did my best to optimize the image settings and focus for each optic. It's not perfect, but should give you a good idea of what to expect regarding magnification, field of view, and detection and ID capabilities of each optic. If you watch the video on a computer, make sure to play it on 4K. If you watch it on your phone, make sure to watch in landscape orientation.

Tempted to put my XP50 up for sale and grab a HALO LR. That said, I do like the multiple zeroes on my Trail, built in DVR, and 16 hour battery without needing an external power pack. What am I missing?

The Halo can store multiple zeroes, but everything else is valid.

Ok thanks. I've always loved my Trail...it's honestly fantastic for what I use it for and had planned on keeping it until 1280x960 resolution came into the market. That said, the image on that Halo is stunning. A little worried about close encounters (<30 yards) but I imagine it would still be ok

Rich, this is amazing. I know how much work it is to put two scopes side by side and sync the video and edit it all. You did this with an insane amount of optics and did a fantastic job!!

Thank you !! That was great. I love my XQ50 Trail but the Halo just blows me away. Unfortunately my wants and my pocket book don't see eye to eye.

That was a fantastic comparison. I've been looking at thermal for a long time and always wondered how the different scopes stacked up. Thank’s for putting this video together... it really lays it all out there! up

Great video.
I've learned to really appreciate the wide angle view of the XP50. I can set it up and wifi to a tablet and wait for the pigs to show in the field. Don't have to pan the field much and when I do, it's viewed on the tablet.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

I don't think it's the FLIR that's jealous grin

Thanks for sharing, that's impressive material and not easy to accomplish...did a great job.

I know nothing about thermals or NV at all, but that is an awesome video and I'm sure it was a ton of work to create. Very cool!
