Good luck to you. I'm out here in Coleman county this weekend too. Unfortunately, per the usual this year, nothing on camera and nothing moving on our place. Heard quite a few shots this morning so far. I have to wonder if the guy high fencing next door to us has completely screwed up our hunting this year. I don't think I will even get a deer this year unless I just happen to be in the stand on the right day when 1 deer just happens to move through. We had a ton of deer here 2 years ago, but numbers have slowly dwindled since the high fence went up last year. Don't know for sure that it is that, but it has pretty much ruined my year so far.

I hunt south of Bangs. Was out this weekend and it was pretty slow. I think between the moon and acorns they don't have to move much during the day. Didn't see any bucks chasing yet. You guys see any sign of the rut?

I'm in eastern Coleman County almost directly east of Coleman. Close to Brown County. There are signs of rut at my place - several bucks chasing after does in my oats food plots over the weekend. My main blind has a nice view of the property up on a hill - if it wasn't for the view - I'd be pretty disappointed if I was only hunting feeders. I've had to turn down the spin rate on the feeders as the corn has been piling up. Still seeing lots of deer... just not directly under the feeders.

We are south of Santa Anna. Between Rockwood and Santa Anna. Just nothing coming in. Same story on our place. We have a beautiful view from the hill side on our place, but no sign of rutting action, and nothing coming in to the feeders. This is about all I can look forward to when going out there. Campfire coffee, a nice view, and no traffic. If only there were critters running around! confused2 [Linked Image]

I saw two mature bucks with doe, and they were at oak trees eating acorns...I did have one mature 8 point come to the feeder around 9:00 AM, he was by himself.

We're just south of Santa Anna and have video of a young 8 mounting a doe this past Sunday. Buddy that lives out there says the rut has officially kicked off where we are. It's be a slow season so far as all of our deer and turkey are underneath the oak trees. Hopefully this weekend will generate some activity.
