Got in the stand at 330. At 340 a coyote walks 2 feet in front of the stand let it get about 50 yds from me and popped him. Think it was early enough the deer will still come out. We shall see.

I had 2 yesterday morning running in and out of the sendero all morning scaring my deer. Finally got tired of it and dropped one of them at 278 yards. Good luck, don't think shooting that early will affect anything.

No coyote gets a pass on place. Good job, plenty early not to affect your deer

Talkin' 'bout 'yotes, I saw my first one while actually hunting opening day. I've seen tons of them out west where I used to live and just a few here in the Hill Country. I just thought it strange to see them in the National Forest. I didn't shoot him, and I'm glad since 2 small bucks popped up shortly after it left the area. They were both under A/R regs so they didn't get popped, either.

Retired!
