Well I finally took my first bobcat.

I was minding my own business checking cattle and setting out coyote traps and I see something out of the corner of my eye. A bobcat in the farm field next me to just strolling along. He stops and sits under the only tree in the field which gives me time to grab the rifle and take a shot at him and he dropped in his tracks. I was excited but was even more ecstatic when I saw his coat! These pictures don’t due him justice his markings are so well defined and he’s got spots like an ocelot almost. Big ole Tom and he was heavy!

To me this is a awesome trophy.

How many of y’all have seen a cat like this??

I have seen some dang ugly bobcats, and some good looking ones. I have never seen one that looked that good.

I took this cat on July 4th some years back. Pictures don’t do it justice either . Look how stout them front legs are!

I've killed a dozen, one last week, right here it is, average. The one you got there is a real trophy IMO.
Great job, I'd have it tanned, not mounted. [Linked Image]

Love the markings on that kitty, should make a great mount.

That's an exceptional coat. We have a lot of Bobcats where I am and I have tons of video of them from over the years, but ours tend to have small, muted spots and markings, nothing as contrasting as that one.

You might hunt a long time before finding another as keenly marked. Well worthy of a full body mount IMO.

That’s probably the prettiest one I’ve ever seen. We just don’t get those pronounced spots in my area.

This is the only one I have on cam. I have not seen one in person. Yours should be an awesome mount well done.

Couple from one trail cam from yesterday and only a few minutes apart. I have a lot of bobcats here and see them every few days when hunting.
