recently got a Ruger american and today a nice used Weaver 6-24x42 arrived. Not the best for turret elevation changes (not a micro-trac) , but its all about fun anyway

That’s wild, but sounds really fun at the same time! This will all be new to me, so I appreciate the best 3 of 6 scores. I’m sure it will take me a couple to figure out how it goes.

You got any videos of this kind of thing we can see?

Only videos I have are of the centerfire matches none of the 22 match but if you look up NRL22 it will give you some reference but we do shoot further than they do.

Interested depending on distance from Lubbock and my schedule. Shoot NRL22 now but always looking for other challenges.

Some good info in that video. We shoot double what the NRL22 guys do though. Takes a lot to set these matches up and for you guys to get to them and entry fees just to come pop off 50 rounds of 22 and leave. I try to make it worth the shooters while as well as my own.

We're going to be right on 35 and east of 35 so will be a pretty good drive from Lubbock.

I am in for sure! For those asking about equipment, I shot the first .22 match with a Glenfield model 25 (bolt) with a 7 round magazine. It had a cheap redfield scope that only dialed down to 50 yards. I placed solidly middle of the pack. I had less than $200 total in my whole rig. So, yes, you can shoot this without dropping a bunch of dough. Although, you will have so much fun, that you will probably be spurred into spending a little $ on a new rifle/scope afterwards!

We are still trying to hammer stuff down but I start vacation today and won’t be back until the 2nd of December. Still have a lot of logistics to work out on the backend, but stay tuned to this thread any new info I’ll post in here.

Can someone make suggestions for basic/minimum shooting accessories ? Currently have a caldwell tack-driver bag. Are you guys shooting prone on the ground, etc. While the videos help, just wonder what you all might do differently. thanks smile

I see this info on nrl22
. The course of fire will always be 2 prone stages, 1 positional, 1 barricade and a 5th that can be any of those things.

another question, is membership in NRL22 required or suggested ?

Only accessories I use and a lot of the other guys use are a bag, bipod, and gun. Some of the guys have a ton of accessories but it’s not needed.

Our course of fire is different than NRL22. We come up with course of fires ourselves.

No membership needed.

just in case this interests someone..

Best Pawn in Sherman has CCI green tag, about $9/100
a few boxes of RWS special match. Kind of a wide selection overall.
I got his last few boxes each of the RWS orange and RWS yellow, but he mentioned he would be ordering more.

Anywhere else in North Texas sell high end .22lr ammo? SK, Lapua, eley, Norma, wolf match? I will check the pawn shop in Sherman, but surely someone else sells it local where you don’t have to order, right? confused2
