With the SCOTUS decision to allow lawsuits against Remington to proceed, could this eventually lead to large increases in the cost of guns and ammo? Could it result in some foreign gun makers deciding to pull their offerings from American store shelves?

They simply chose not to hear the case. There's no reason for them to get involved at this point. let it play out then get involved if needed.

I choose to differ. They could have decided the Second Amendment protected Remington against liability and killed any chance of Remington being held liable.

IMHO, Remington will either pay the families without going to court or take their chances with a jury. While I would like to say a jury would see Remington as being no more liable than a car maker when a drunk driver kills someone else, you just never know. Should it go to court and Remington lose, could it result in gun and ammo makers being held liable for every gun-related murder or suicide in the US?

I understand that. They should have squashed it like a bug. No different than suing auto makers for a DUI death...

I wouldn't dispute that.

It could also lead to gun makers opting to stop making and selling AR-style rifles should Remington lose in court.

If it does end up in court, let's hope it doesn't land in the hands of a left-leaning jury.

there is a real possibility that a jury would not rule in favor of the plaintiff. Their case will be hard to prove.

Seeing Remington winning in court would be my first choice no doubt. Or, they may decide to cave, settle with the families, and increase prices to cover increased liability costs. All the other gun and ammo makers would follow suit to cover their own potential for loss.
